I am a final-year journalism student at X (Ryerson) University. I'm the communities editor for the Eyeopener, Ryerson's independent, student-run paper.
I recently finished a two-month, full-time internship with Torstar's Summer Student Journalism Program, working out of the Orangeville Banner and Erin Advocate. I wrote a variety of articles including council meetings, community stories and business related articles. I also worked with two of the other student journalists on developing the Metroland TikTok account.
In April 2021 completed a six-week, full-time internship at Corus Entertainment, working on social media for Corus' entertainment platforms. Some of my work for Big Brother Canada 9, History TV and Showcase can be found on my portfolio website.
My passion for telling stories in an accessible, interesting and fair way lead me to switch from Industrial Engineering in 2019. I spent five years in the program but kept up my writing with various campus and off-campus publications.
